Did you know that December 24 is National Eggnog Day?! It’s funny because I’ve been making nog on Christmas Eve before there was ever an Eggnog Day. My mom’s birthday is December 23 and Jay’s birthday is on December 24. Jay is a family friend and every Christmas Eve we would go his house for some nog to celebrate. He always let me help make his famous nog and that’s where I learned this recipe. He taught me how to make it the first time when I was only 7 years old. It’s like a boozy nog milkshake. Of course, we would make a batch without alcohol in it and we would drink that together while he made the boozy batch for everyone else. I still keep in touch with Jay and every Christmas Eve I send him a picture of my nog.

Eggnog 2016 – One of my friends surprised me with the moose cups from the movie Christmas Vacation as my Christmas present. I will always cherish these mugs!
