If I could eat Asian and Mexican/Latin cuisine every day for the rest of my life, I would be happy. I learned how to make guacamole when I was just a kid. My best friend’s mom would have chips and guacamole as a snack for us when we would get home from school sometimes. I watched and learned how to make it so I could make it at my house. My taste buds have changed over the years so I have changed the recipe from its original version but this is the recipe I use when I make guacamole these days.
It’s so easy to make. You just mash up the avocados and then stir in the jalapenos, lime juice, cilantro, red onion, salt and pepper. I serve it on my taco bowls or with chips and sweet peppers.

Hi Kathy – I’m jealous that you have an avocado tree!
Looks delicious! I rated as 4 stars only because I don’t like cilantro. I know! Not great when I love Mexican food so much 😬
I read somewhere that everyone has an enzyme in their saliva that causes people to taste cilantro differently. It takes like lime juice to me but others say it tastes like soap to them. I feel bad for those people because cilantro is one of my favorite herbs!
Looks delicious! I love fresh guacamole. I also put roma tomatoes in mine.
Thank you Brittany!
Chips and guacamole is 100% my favorite snack ever! Cilantro and red onion are a must 🙂 I am not a fan of putting tomatoes in it either, this recipe sounds perfect!
Thank you Megan!
