As summer temperatures rise, it becomes even more crucial to stay hydrated and replenish our bodies with essential nutrients. I start each morning with 16-32 oz of water and electrolytes. I use THESE when I’m traveling and THIS when I’m home. While drinking plain water with electrolytes will certainly keep you hydrated, why not beat the summer heat with these 5 refreshing infused water recipes? Infused water not only adds a burst of flavor and will keep you from wanting something other than water but it also provides extra vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to keep you energized throughout the day. In this article, we will explore five delightful infused water recipes that will keep you cool, hydrated, and nourished this summer.
I do not know what it is like where you live but it is H-O-T and humid in North Carolina. The weather forecast shows 90’s each day for the foreseeable future. A few days ago, I posted an ayurvedic hydrating drink on my Instagram stories. While it was delicious, it took a little more effort to prepare than just infusing your water with fruit, vegetables, and herbs like these 5 refreshing infused water recipes I have listed below. I could go on and on with more ways to infuse your water but these are a few of my favs.
NOTE: each of these states adding these infusions into a pitcher of water. You can also, add a few pieces directly to a glass or stainless steel water bottle and head out the door. It will steep while you are out and about running errands. See the bonus section below.
1. Cooling Cucumber Mint
When the summer sun beats down, nothing tops the cooling effect of cucumber and mint-infused water. Cucumbers are known for their high water content, while mint leaves add a refreshing touch. Cucumbers also contain silica, a compound that supports healthy skin and hair(1). Simply slice a cucumber and add a handful of fresh mint leaves to a pitcher of water. Let it steep in the refrigerator for a few hours and savor the soothing, hydrating combination.
2. Revitalizing Citrus Bliss
Start your day with a zesty twist by infusing your water with citrus fruits. Citrus fruits, such as lemons, oranges, and grapefruits, are rich in vitamin C, which supports your immune system and boosts collagen production for radiant skin(2). 5. Invigorating Blueberry Rosemary

When combined with the herbal notes of rosemary, this infused water becomes a refreshing and health-boosting drink. Blueberries are known to support brain health (4) and reduce oxidative stress, while rosemary has anti-inflammatory properties (5) and aids in digestion. To make this delightful infused water, muddle a handful of fresh blueberries and a sprig of fresh rosemary in a pitcher. Fill the pitcher with water and refrigerate for a few hours.
